ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Well, one thing led to another and even though I got C’s in my one writing class in college (and told God I could do anything for him but write) I got my first writing job for a TV series. And then another and then some directing jobs and finally some books. (I think I’ve written and/or directed a few dozen films and about 60 books). The projects have won about 40 awards, I get to travel all over the world, and I’m having the time of my life. I often think that none of this would have happened if I lived my life my way. I would have never chosen writing and directing for a living. Instead, I might be in somebody’s mouth this very minute drilling away as a dentist. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with being a dentist, it’s just not what I was designed for. So, everywhere I go, I encourage people to say yes to God, no matter how foolish it may feel, because by doing that, they’ll be in the center of His will and living a cooler life than they’d ever dreamed possible. It’s not always easy and it can be a little scary…but it’s anything but boring!
Today I live in California, not too far from Hollyweird (where I’m still trying to make a difference) with two cats, two kids, one dog and one wife.
Another Faithword book by Bill Myers is The Voice.
ABOUT THE BOOK

When their rituals open a portal into the spiritual realm, a terrifying and mysterious entity crosses over to our world.
The battle culminates with the capture of Lisa’s father as the next target and a Black Mass requiring both their deaths as a sacrifice. The team will, once again, have to rely on all their wits, strength, and faith to survive in this action-packed, unearthly warfare.

In the third novel of this young adult series, the mystery deepens in a house that is more than meets the eye.
The Kings have been in the creepy old place, their new home, for only a few days, but they’ve experienced enough terror to last a lifetime. And the mystery is growing even more baffling. Shadowy and shifting, the big house conceals doors into other worlds that blur the line between memories and dreams-and the slightest misstep can change history forever.
At least, that’s if they believe the trembling old man who shows up claiming to know them. “There’s a reason you’re in the house,” he tells them. “As gatekeepers, we must make sure only those events that are supposed to happen get through to the future.”
The problem is that horrors beyond description wait on the other side of those gates. As if that weren’t enough, the Kings are also menaced by sinister forces on this side-like the dark, ancient stranger Taksidian, who wants them out now.
It’s hard to believe that things could have gotten worse for the King family-but they have. Dad’s in handcuffs, the school bully has just found the secret portal that leads from the high school to the house, and Xander is sure he’s found Mom, but they can’t get back to her. Then Jesse arrives, and he seems to be a virtual Obi Wan of knowledge about the place. But is he the key they need to unlock the secrets, or just a crazy old man?
Dangers are increasing from within and without when Xander makes a startling discovery that explains why they haven’t found any rooms that lead to the future. Alongside the threats, though, they’re also starting to find some surprising allies.
All they have to do is get organized, get psyched, and get Mom. But that isn’t nearly as easy as it sounds.
Xander, David, and Toria must venture beyond the gates to save their missing mother-and discover how truly high the stakes have become.

Stormie’s Review of: From Dead to Worse
“From dead to worse” is the eighth installation in the
Sookie Stackhouse series. This is the first book in
the series that I have read.
The story is about Werewolf, Witch and Vampire
societies that stem from New Orleans. In the
aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and a man-made
explosion at the vampire summit, everyone is in an
uproar-humans, weres, and vampires alike.
Sookie Stackhouse is a cocktail waitress who is trying
to deal with the fact that her boyfriend, Quinn(a
were) is missing. Sookie is a friend to weres and is
blood-bonded to a vamp who is the leader of the local
vamp community. Because she has a foot in both camps,
this puts in her the middle of the ensuing war between
the weres and vamps.
I did not feel a pull to the main character, Sookie.
I found her rather annoying and I couldn’t understand
why every male in the story was in love with her. The
description of her in the book did not make her sound
very attractive and I felt like she acted like a
10-year-old which made me confused. I almost felt
like one of the other characters would be better
suited for the main slot in th series. That said, the
other characters were weak and this could be due to
the fact that this is a series. However, I believe
that even in a series, each book should be able to
stand on it’s own. Even though I read the eighth book
in the series, I have no desire to go back and start
at the beginning.
Recommended read? Nope.
