Excel 2003
Did you know? That there are 65,536 rows in an Excel spreadsheet by 255 columns? That's 16,711,680 cells in one spreadsheet! And you can access the last row by holding down your Ctrl key and pressing your "down arrow" key.
Wonder where those whiz kids at Microsoft came up with that number?
It's all binary code baby! 65,536 is 2 to the 16th power. Did you also know, that each cell in an Excel spreadsheet can hold, 65.536 characters? You would know if you came to my class.
I had a man in a Word class one day that said he typed all of letters in Excel! He simply clicked in a cell and typed them and then printed them out. He said he thought is was time he came and learned a word processing program. I told him, that was a good idea.
In the Excel Office 12 spreadsheet there are 1,048,576 rows by 16,384. That's 2 to the 20 power and 2 to the 14th power and gives us a whopping 17,179,869,184 cells!
That's a lot of little parking places for all of you CPA's out there!
